"Eternal Gaze" is a combination of oriental woodcut patterns and contrasting and harmonious colours. The separate wood panel structure above and below allows the headdress-like interior landscape to be cut above the figure as a clue to the subject matter.

Disintegrating courtyards, flowers, monochrome portrait backs are extracted from personal experience by the artist. Swirling patterns, end-to-end lines, fixed structures of outer frames... Deceased family members and a drifting domestic landscape seem to nestle life and landscape as a whole of memory, making them eternally still in the moment.
