As a multi-media artist whose early practice focused on painting and sculpture. In recent years, Xinghao Liang (Karl)’s work has expanded to explore the intricate relationships between installation, sound, space, and action. Central to his approach is the concept of “art in progress,” emphasizing art as a dynamic, evolving process rather than a static end result. Through an in-depth exploration of space and sound, he aims to craft immersive environments that invite intuitive perception and direct audience participation, transforming art into an immediate and interactive dialogue.

By interweaving multiple media, Liang guides viewers to engage actively with his artistic context, encouraging them to investigate the complex interplay of technology and human emotion.

His first solo exhibition ‘Records of contemplation’ was held in 2020, In 2022, Liang was a finalist in the 17th Arte Laguna Prize in Venice, and in 2023, he was featured in Madeinbed Magazine.

Bio/CV

Xinghao Liang (born 1999 in Beihai, China) is an artist living and working in London and Shanghai. He studied at the China Academy of Art (2017-2021) and then at Chelsea College of Art in London (2022-23). His first solo exhibition "Records of contemplation" was held in 2020, and his works have been collected by Huayi Auction Co. , 2022, he was selected as a finalist for the 17th Arte Laguna Prize.
